The Chatfield boys basketball team split a pair of Three Rivers

Conference games this past week, downing Fillmore Central, 50-47, and losing to Caledonia, 66-55.

In the win over the Falcons, Nate Skare led the scoring with 16, while

Jayme LaPlante chipped in 10, going 5/5 from the field. LaPlante also

pulled down six rebounds. Brandon Adler was the team leader with eight

'boards' and added four points. Luke Isensee led the team with four steals

and Reid Danielson had a team high six assists. Danielson also contributed

seven points.

The Gophers had five three-pointers in the game, four of nine for Nate

Skare. Jake Neis had five points, two steals and three assists.

Scoring vs FC: LaPlante 10, Danielson 7, Isensee 6, Skare 16, Neis 5,

Mitch Irish 2, Adler 4. Three's, 5; Skare (4), Isensee.

In the loss to the Warriors, Chatfield had three in double-figures, led

by Reid Danielson's 13. Danielson was five for seven from the field,

including 2/4 from 'long range.' Reid added four steals, three assists and

two rebounds. Jayme LaPlante and Nate Skare were also in d-f with 10 each.

LaPlante also pulled down a team high seven rebounds. Jake Neis had a fine

game with four points, three rebounds, four steals and a team high four

assists. Danielson and Neis tied for team high in steals. Luke Isensee

knocked down seven points, pulled down four rebounds, dished out three

assists and added three steals.

"We played well in spots," said Coach Tom Bance, "but had too many

lapses and turned the ball over. We really struggled with our outside

shooting and that made their zone defense more effective." However,

Danielson (2/4) and Isensee (2/3) did shoot well from 'long range', while

the rest of the team went 3/21. The team did hit eight of 12 from the

'charity stripe'.

Scoring vs Caledonia: LaPlante 10, Danielson 13, Isensee 7, Christian

Bance 6, Skare 10, Neis 4, Irish 4. Three's, 7; Danielson (2), Isensee (2),

Bance (2), Skare.

Tuesday night the Gophers play host to TRC co-leader Rushford-Peterson

(11-2, 14-2) and Friday night they'll 'entertain' the other co-leader,

Plainview-Elgin-Millville (11-2, 12-6).
