Chatfield girls finish regular season at 22-0

The Chatfield Gopher girls basketball team finished the regular season with a perfect 22-0 record, downing Rushford-Peterson, 66-52, in the season finale.
In the win over the Trojans, three Chatfield players were in double-figures, led by Kirsten Keefe with 16. Brook Irish added a dozen and Maddy Kammer, in one of her best offensive shows of the season, contributed 10. Kammer made four of six from the field and two of two at the free throw line, Keefe connected on five of 12 from the field, including three of six from three-point range, and three of three at the charity line, and Brook Irish made three of seven from the field and six of 10 at the line.
It was a good shooting night for the Lady Gophers, hitting 43.6 percent (24/55) on their field goal shots, and 71.4 percent (15/21) from the free throw line. Also shooting well were Sidney Irish (3/7, 42.9 percent, from the field), Shelby Bernard (1/1 from the field), Camille Rasmussen (2/4 from the field), Maddy Larrabee (2/4 from the field, 2/2 at the line), Maddie Talamantes (2/4 fg), Morgan Henry (2/2 ft) and Sydney Gould (1/2 from the field).
Camille Rasmussen had one of her best floor games, tying for the lead in rebounds (7), steals (4) and assists (4). Brook Irish also had seven rebounds, Kirsten Keefe also had four assists and Sidney Irish also had four steals.
Ten different players scored for the Gophers, in another team win.

Chatfield had no trouble with Lewiston-Altura in their first round game in the 1AA-East tournament. The Lady Gophers had a 43-9 lead at halftime, and finished the game with a 74-16 win. Twelve different players scored against the Cardinals, led by Sidney Irish's 15. Irish hit six of nine shots from the field, including three of four from beyond the arc. Also in double-figure scoring were Kirsten Keefe (10) and Maddy Larrabee (11).
The gals made eight of 20 from long range, getting three's from Sidney Irish, Keefe, Bernard, Larrabee, Talamantes and Henry.
Five different players tied for the team high in rebounds, each pulling down four: Maddy Kammer, Keefe, Henry, Gould and Brooke Adler. Thirteen different players recorded rebounds in the win over L-A. Henry had a team high six steals and Keefe led the team with five assists.

Chatfield was scheduled to play Cotter in the 1AA-East semi-finals Tuesday, March 4, Mayo Civic Center Arena. The winner plays Saturday, March 8, against the winner of the game between Plainview-Elgin-Millville and La Crescent. The teams left are the top four seeds in the tourney with Chatfield getting the top seed.
