Chatfield came in as the #4 seed and fell to the #5 seed, Winona Cotter,

in the first round of the 2013 playoffs. The '4-5' game is probably the

most competitive game in the first round of play, and when #4 loses to #5,

many don't consider it an upset.

The loss to the Ramblers ended the Gophers at 15-11 for the season.

Chatfield was 14-6 in the Three Rivers Conference and 15-10 for the regular

season.

Junior Nate Skare topped the scoring for the guys, averaging 12.68

points per game. Junior Jayme LaPlante was also in double-figures, scoring

10.77 ppg. LaPlante was the top rebounder, pulling down 6.15 'boards' per

game. Senior Mitch Irish was right behind at 5.58 rpg.

Junior Jake Neis was the 'chief thief' with 44 steals. Nate Skare and

senior Reid Danielson had 38 'take-aways' for the season. Neis also led the

team in assists with 114; Danielson was next in line with 95.

In the shooting departments, Jayme LaPlante was best from 'the field',

61.60%(116/188) and Reid Danielson was the most accurate from the 'charity

stripe', 71.43%(20/28). Nate Skare topped the 'bomb squad' with 55

three-pointers.
