Prior to the Christmas break, the Chatfield girls downed Kingsland,

65-40, improving their overall record to 6-3, 5-3 in the Three Rivers


Nine different girls accounted for the 65 point total, led by senior

MaKenzie Miller, 20, and sophomore Maddie Talamantes, 10. Miller hit nine

of 15 from the field, and 2/2 from the line, while Talamantes connected on

five of eight from the field. Talamantes also added two rebounds, two

steals and four assists. Miller contributed five rebounds, a steal and an


Brook Irish was the team leader with seven rebounds and Kirsten Keefe

led the team with six assists. Traci McDonald also pulled down five boards.

Keefe and Sidney Irish led the 'larceny' department, each with three.

Five different girls were 'perfect' at the charity line: Keefe (2/2), S.

Irish (2/2), Morgan Henry (1/1), B. Irish (3/3) and Miller (2/2). The gals

had 14 turnovers in the 25 point win.

Kileigh Dudek, Brook Irish and Morgan Henry had good games coming of the

bench. Dudek and Irish each had five points and Henry netted nine. Henry

connected on two of four three-pointers and 1/1 at the line. Dudek hit two

of three from the field, and Irish hit 3/3 at the free throw line.

This past Friday and Saturday the gals participated in a tournament in

Annandale. Their opening game was against Crookston.
