Gals split; beat FC, lose to DE

Last Tuesday the Chatfield girls 'ran into a buzzsaw', losing to
Dover-Eyota, 69-43. Then they rebounded with a 64-28 win over a very young Fillmore Central team.
In the loss to Dover-Eyota, the gals only hit 15/57 (26.3%) from the
field, 3/20 (15.0%) from three-point range, but much better from the line,
Brook Irish and Morgan Henry were the top scorers with 10 each. Henry
hit 2/4 from long range. MaKenzie Miller was tops in rebounds with eight,
while Irish pulled down six. Kirsten Keefe led the team with three assists.
The team recorded 23 turnovers in the loss.

The Lady Gophers jumped out to a 7-0 lead before Fillmore Central
got on the scoreboard, and increased that lead to 42-15 at the intermission.
Chatfield coach Brian Baum 'cleared' the bench in the first half enroute to
the huge lead.
Chatfield outscored the Falcons 22-13 in the second half,with many of
the reserves seeing a lot of playing time.
MaKenzie Miller connected on eight of 10 shots from the field, all
of them at 'point blank' range, and finished the night with a game high 19
points. She also led theteam with five steals.
Maddy Kammer had a team high four rebounds. Six different girls had
three rebounds for Chatfield. Keefe, Irish and Talamantes all had four
assists in the TRC win.
Chatfield only had 10 turnovers in the game. Chatfield forced Fillmore
Central into 28 turnovers.
