Chatfield had two runners in this year's event, junior Karen Gomez, and junior Christian Bance.

Christian Bance ran in the 5000-meter boy's race, finishing in 17th place, with a time of 16:48.9. Bance's place finish qualified him for All-State honors. Keeghan Hurley, Perham, won the event, 15:36.7. Perham also took home the team honors with 52 points. Mounds Park Academy was second with 111 points. Perham had four runners in the top 10, team competition. Section 1 representatives, Plainview-Elgin-Millville and Winona Cotter, finished 13th and 14th, respectively. 175 individuals and 16 teams took part in this year's meet.

Karen 'go-go' Gomez finished the 4000 meters in 16:22.7, good for 101st place. That's pretty much in the 'middle of the pack', with 174 individuals competing. Emi Trost, Cannon Falls, won the meet with a time of 14:40.3. Trost had been the runner-up the last two years. Annandale won the team competition with 85 points; Lac Qui Parle Valley (Madison, Appleton, Milan, Marietta) was second, 111 points. Representing Section 1, Lake City was eighth and Dover-Eyota was 11th.

This was Karen's third consecutive trip to the state, and Christian's second.
