Last Tuesday the gals lost a TRC match-up with Caledonia, 50-36, but

rebounded with a 58-55 win over Rushford-Peterson on Friday.

The big story in the Caledonia loss was 28 turnovers and only four

attempts at the free throw line. "We also gave 15 offensive boards,² said

Coach Brian Baum, ³and we ran into foul trouble in the second half."

MaKenzie Miller and Traci McDonald, Chatfield¹s latest version of the twin

towers¹ sat much of the second half, commented Coach Baum. In spite of

that, Miller did finish the night with a double-double, 10 points and 10

rebounds. Brook Irish also had a nice night on the boards, pulling down

eight, along with five points. Kirsten Keefe had seven points, two steals

and three assists. Maddie Talamantes had three buckets for six points.

Candace Gould had five rebounds and a pair of assists.

In the win over R-P, sophomore Kirsten Keefe dished out 12 assists. She

added to her fine floor game with seven steals. Leading the scoring was

senior MaKenzie Miller with 21. Miller hit 10 of 14 field goals and _ at

the line. Maddie Talamantes had a fine shooting night, hitting six of 12

field goals, including 2/4 from long range¹. She was also 50% at the

charity line, _, to finish the night with 15 points. She also had six

rebounds, two steals and two assists.

Camille Rasmussen came off the bench and sparked the Lady Gophers with

three buckets and four rebounds.

The second half included two runs¹; one for Chatfield to get a big

lead, 22-4, and the other by Rushford-Peterson, 25-7, to tie the game at

55-55. A blocked shot by Miller and a free throw by Talamantes clinched the

win for Chatfield.

Tuesday night the gals host a much-improved Plainview-Elgin-Millville

team and Friday night they travel to Kingsland. The gals will be playing in

a tournament in Annandale over the Christmas break.
