His other 'scores' came in the first half on carries of one yard, four yards and two yards. Neis carried the ball 16 times, with a longest carry of 66 yards, and averaged 12.25 yards per 'touch'.

One of Duxbury's carries was a one yard touchdown plunge. As a team, Chatfield carried the ball 42 times for a total of 356 net yards. All five of Chatfield's touchdowns were 'on the ground'.

In the air Chatfield was four of eight for 58 yards. Nate Skare threw all of the Gopher passes and Jayme LaPlante had all of the receptions, and thus, all of the yards.

Defensively, Chatfield was led by AJ Riley with 25 points. Riley had three solo tackles, one interception, one fumble recovery and two pass deflections. Jake Neis also had a great night on defense, coming up with 24 points on two pass interceptions, four solo tackles and two assisted tackles. "We fumbled the ball in the second half, giving them very good field position, said Coach Jeff Johnson, but we stopped them on a very good goal-line stand. We had two goal-line stands, he added. That made me happy as the head coach and the defensive co-ordinator. We bent, but we didn't break."

"Our offensive line of Brandon Adler(LT), Ian Morrison(LG), Tommy Jech(C), TJ Moechnig(RG) and Sawyer Prinsen(RT), they came off the ball and hit people, and sustainted their blocks. They were quick. They were just awesome. They had a great game and our stats showed just how good they were."

Sawyer Prinsen did the kicking-off for the Gophers and Nate Skare did the punting.

Chatfield hosts Southland Friday night in another Blue Division 'conference' game. The Rebels are 1-2 for the season, coming off a 44-14 win over Kingsland.
