This past week the boys lost a pair of games to Zumbrota-Mazeppa (58-55)

and Lewiston-Altura (75-63). With the two losses, Chatfield now has a 5-7

record, overall, and a 4-4 record in the Three Rivers Conference.

In the game against Z-M, Nate Skare led the team with 20 points, hitting

seven of 14 shots from the field, including three of seven from three-point

range. Mitch Irish was also in double-figures with 11 points. Irish hit

five of eight field goals and pulled down a team high nine rebounds. Reid

Danielson (5) and Jake Neis (4) were tops on the team in assists.

"We played well for most of the game," said Coach Tom Bance. "Our

inability to recognize their hot shooter really cost us," he added. Senior

Z-M guard Lucas Ziemba had six three-pointers in the game, one of them to

tie the game at 44-44. Chatfield held a 29-26 lead at halftime, and built

that lead up to eight at 41-33, before the Cougars made their comeback run.

Another 'three'by Ziemba put Z-M ahead to stay at 56-54. Zumbrota-Mazeppa

ended with 13 three-pointers in the game.

Christian Bance had nine points in the game, including two

'three-pointers.' Jake Neis, Jayme LaPlante and Brandon Adler each had four

points in the game.

Last Thursday the Gopher guys lost a TRC game with Lewiston-Altura. "We

played hard," said Coach Bance, "they just played harder. They shot the

ball very well and just seemed to get every loose ball."

Jake Neis had a fine floor game, dishing out seven assists to his

teammates. In the scoring department, Chatfield had three players in

double-figures; Reid Danielson (12), Nate Skare (18) and Mitch Irish (12).

Jayme LaPlante led the team with 10 'boards'.

Chatfield hit eight of 19 from long range, including 1/2 for Danielson,

2/3 for Luke Isensee, and 4/10 for Nate Skare. Danielson was five for six,

overall, in field goal shooting.

The guys have three games this week; Monday, at home, against

Wabasha-Kellogg, Tuesday, at home, against Southland, and Friday, at

Dover-Eyota.
