Last week the Chatfield volleyball team beat Plainview-Elgin-Millville(3-0; 25-20, 25-18, 25-15), lost to Fillmore Central(2-3; 25-20, 20-25, 25-21, 20-25, 9-15) and went 2-3 at the Burnsville Showcase Tournament last Friday and Saturday.

On Friday, at Burnsville, the gals lost their opening match to #8 ranked Wadena-Deer Creek, 0-2(20-25, 18-25) and then lost perennial power Visitation, 1-2(20-25, 25-22, 13-15). Saturday the gals got their first win, downing Greenway, 2-1(20-25, 25-18,15-11), lost to New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva, 1-2(22-25, 25-13, 12-15), then finished up with a 2-1 win over Concordia-Roseville(21-25, 25-19, 15-9).

Through all of those matches and games, Chatfield is now 4-1 in the Three Rivers Conference and 11-6, overall.

In the win over PEM, Makenzie Miller had seven kills and a hitting efficiency of .400. Kirsten Keefe came up with six kills(.357) and Brook Irish added five. Missing no serves, orjust one serve, were Gabrielle Salisbury(5/6), Kileigh Dudek(9/10, 3 aces), Maddie Talamantes(19/19) and Sheridan Salisbury(12/13). Brook Irish was in on four blocks, picking up 2 _ points. Tops in set assists were Dudek(11) and G Salisbury(8). Top diggers were Alex Duxbury(23) and Keefe(13). Leader in serve receive(SR) were Duxbury(16/17), Keefe(15/16) and Maddy Kammer(4/4).

Against Fillmore Central, the Lady Gophers hit only .073. The gals had 42 kills, 29 hitting errors in 177 attacks. Kammer was tops in kills with 10, followed by Keefe and Haley Kohlmeyer, six each. Makenzie Miller had five kills and Duxbury had four kills from her back row position.

In the serving department, Kirsten Keefe(23/23), Maddie Talamantes(13/13), Maddy Kammer(8/8), Sheridan Salisbury(7/7) and Camille Rasmussen(4/4) were all perfect. G Salisbury, Duxbury and Talamantes each had two ace serves.

Brook Irish was all over the net with two solo blocks and six assists. Six different Gophers had assists, led by Kileigh Dudek(15) and Gabrielle Salisbury(11).

Duxbury had 42 digs and was a perfect 24/24 in serve receives. Kirsten Keefe was equal to the task with 20 digs and 32/34 in SR. Gabrielle Salisbury had 16 digs, while Maddy Kammer and Kileigh Dudek each had 10. In SR, Maddie Talamantes was 14/14, Maddy Kammer at 5/5 and Sheridan Salisbury, 6/6.

Tuesday night the Chatfield Gophers will be hosting #2 ranked Wabasha-Kellogg. The 'northern' Falcons are undefeated, 5-0 in the TRC, and 19-0, overall. Wabasha-Kellogg is coming off an impressive 6-0 finish at the Class A Burnsville Showcase.
