Volleyball Team Improves To 2-1
Lose To FC In Non-Conference Match

Last Thursday the Chatfield volleyball team traveled to Winona and picked up a 3-0 win over Cotter in Three Rivers Conference action. Set scores were 25-22, 25-15 and 25-16.

Leading the way for the Lady Gophers was Kirsten Keefe. Keefe had 12 kills and a hitting efficiency of .478, eight digs, 13/13 at the service line and 12 of 15 in serve receive. Two of her 13 good serves were for 'aces'. Also having a good night was Alex Duxbury. Duxbury led the team with 11 digs and was 16/17 in serve receive. She also went 10 for 12 at the service line, including one ace serve.
Sheridan Salisbury was 13/13 at the service line, including two aces, and nailed three kills(.375 hitting) in eight attacks. She was also 2/2 in SR and had five digs.
Setting it all up was senior Gabrielle Salisbury. She had 22 set assists, along with two kills, nine for 10 from the service line, including a team high three aces. She also came up with three digs and handled accurately 'three of three' serves. Maddy Kammer was 10/11 at the service line and came up with five kills and 1.5 ace blocks. Brook Irish had four kills and two ace blocks. Camille Rasmussen had a team high three ace blocks and recorded three kills. Maddie Talamantes was 5/5 at the 'line' and 3/3 in serve receive.
With the win over Cotter, Chatfield improved to 2-1, overall, and 2-0 in the TRC.
Chatfield's only loss has been to Fillmore Central, 0-3; 13-25, 23-25, 21-25. The Gophers will meet the Falcons again on October 3, for the TRC match-up.
Four players were 'perfect' at the line against FC; Gabrielle Salisbury(13/13), Kirsten Keefe(10/10), Camille Rasmussen(8/8) and Maddie Talamantes(2/2). Sheridan Salisbury(6/7) and Alex Duxbury(10/11) missed just one serve.
Brook Irish led the team with nine kills and a .353 hitting efficiency. Maddy Kammer had six kills and three ace blocks. Kirsten Keefe had five kills against Fillmore Central and a team high 12 digs. Alex Duxbury had nine digs and was 23/28 in serve receive. Keefe 'received' 13 of 14 serves in the three set loss.
Gabrielle Salisbury led the team with 18 set assists.
Chatfield hosted Lewiston-Altura on Tuesday and will travel to Southland on Thursday. Saturday the girls are in Farmington for a tournament.
