Dorothy A. Stephans, 85, of St. Charles, died Sunday, Dec. 9, at Golden

Living Center in St. Charles.

Dorothy A. Rolbiecki was born Oct. 1, 1927, in Winona, to Vince and

Clara (Grzona) Rolbiecki. She grew up in Buffalo, Wis. She and Charles

Stephans were married Oct. 4, 1947, at Minneiska. They made their home near

Dover, moving to St. Charles in 1975.

She worked as an in-home healthcare aid for Ernie McDougall in St.

Charles and Mary Johnson at Fountain.

She loved caring for her pets.

She is survived by three children, Chuck (Norma) of St. Charles, Sue

Schafer of Chatfield, and Kathy Hammersma of Stewartville; grandchildren,

Scott (Rebecca) Stephans, Brad (Karen) Stephans, Corey (Jenny) Stephans,

Stacy (Tim) Williamson, Chris Schafer, Brian (Vicki) Schafer, Shelly (Scott)

Sabin, Sheila (Andy) Burt, Shawn Ellinghuysen, Jeremey (Tiffany)

Ellinghuysen and Ashley Ellinghuysen; 23 great-grandchildren; a brother,

Mark (Marlene) Rolbiecki of Winona; and a sister, Bernice Reck of Arcadia.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Bob; an infant

great-granddaughter, Tanisha; and a step-grandson, Dave Gerdes.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec. 13, at Hoff Funeral Service in

St. Charles, with the Rev. Carol L. Shaffer of Seasons Hospice officiating.

Burial was in Calvary Cemetery in St. Charles.

Hoff Funeral Service in St. Charles assisted the family with

arrangements.
