Joan Marie "Joanie" Hoffman (Sullivan) of Lanesboro, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at Season's Hospice in Rochester of cancer.

Joan Marie Sullivan was born to Gerald J. and Harriet (Glover) Sullivan on Jan. 20, 1947. She grew up in Chatfield, and graduated from Chatfield High School in 1965. On July 19, 1974, she married Terry Hoffman. They later divorced.

Joan worked for the City of Lanesboro, and The Lanesboro American Legion. She enjoyed sewing, her pets, listening to music, playing guitar, time spent with family, and watching the swan and other wildlife on "golden pond."

She is survived by her mother, Harriet Sullivan of Lanesboro; brother, Patrick (Cindy Millar) of Mantorville; sisters, Carol Nordstrom (Ron) of Muskego, Wis.; and Linda Nelson of Roslyn, Wash.; nephews, Rick Sullivan (Michele) of Maplewood; David Nordstrom (Lisa Kimball) of Muskego, Wis.; Benny Sullivan of Dodge Center; a niece, Jenny Kaiser (Eric) of West Allis, Wis.; one great-nephew, Ryan; two great-nieces, Lauren and Gabriella; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, Gerald "Joe", her brother, Michael, and a nephew, Marty.

A memorial service was held Saturday, Feb. 9, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Lanesboro.
