Mary Louise Waller, 93, of Preston, died Thursday, March 6, 2014 at the Chosen Valley Care Center in Chatfield.

She was born Sept. 16, 1920, in Preston Township, the daughter of Charles and Anna (Madson) Barber.

She attended country school.

On May 16, 1940, she married Alvin Waller in Cresco, Iowa. The couple lived in the Preston area and in town in their later years.

She was a homemaker and also worked at the nursing home in Preston. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, dancing and was a big Twins fan. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Shirley (Gaylord) "Casey" Albrecht of Preston; four grandchildren, Scott (Deb) Albrecht of Plainview, Connie (John) Bober of Indianapolis, Ind., Sally (Jeff) Meigs of Preston and Wendy (John) Sullivan of Mazeppa; 14 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin, eight sisters and one brother.

Funeral services were held Monday, March 10, at Christ Lutheran Church in Preston, with the Rev. Dave Jore officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery later this spring.
