Jake Neis probably had the

'game of his career' Saturday, turning in an impressive show- ing with 29 points, 10 rebounds and four steals, all team highs, as the Chatfield boys downed a very good Southland team, 70- 65. And just for good measure, he dished out three assists. Neis was 6/11 from the field, five of ten from three- point range, and a 'cool' 80%, 12/15, at the charity stripe. As a team, Chatfield hit 21 of 30 free throws, an impressive 70% from the line.

Jayme LaPlante had anoth- er good game, collecting 16 points (6/10 fg, 4/5 ft) and nine rebounds. LaPlante and Neis have been 'big factors' in Chatfield winning five of their last six games. Mitch Irish and Christian Bance each had eight points and Luke Isensee and Brandon Adler each had seven rebounds.

"We played well from start to finish," said Coach Tom Bance. "We led for probably 32 of the 36 minutes."

With the win, Chatfield fin- ished the regular season with a 15-10 record, 14-6 in the Three Rivers Conference.

Earlier last week, Chatfield got another TRC win, downing Wabasha-Kellogg 68-41. Nate Skare led the team with 18 points, hitting seven of his nine field goal attempts, including four of six from 'long range'. Jayme LaPlante had a double- double; scoring 17 points and pulling down 10 'boards'. Brandon Adler came off the bench and scored six points and pulled down seven rebounds.

Reid Danielson had a fine game, eight points, a team high five assists and three rebounds. Jake Neis contributed five points, four steals and four assists.

In tournament play, Chatfield got the #4 seed, and will host Winona Cotter Thursday night. Game time is set for 7 p.m. PEM got the #1 seed in the 1AA East Sub-sec- tion, and will host #8Wabasha- Kellogg.
