Randy David Fortier, 52, died March 13, 2012, in Rochester.

Randy David Fortier was born in Duluth on Oct. 27, 1959. He

moved with his family to Chatfield in 1964 and attended Chatfield

schools. He moved to Las Vegas, Nev., and worked for over 20 years in

the gaming business. He returned to the Rochester area and worked for

Skips Sprinkler Systems in Hastings and Treasure Island Casino in Red

Wing.

He enjoyed golf, pool and outdoor activities.

In 2005, he suffered an aortic dissection which resulted in

strokes and heart dysfunction. He attended and completed Saint Marys

Hospital Brain Injury Rehab Program.

He is survived by his mother, Joyce Fortier; sisters,

Jeanette and Vicki (Steve) Bryhn; a brother, Albert (Wendy); two

nieces and five nephews; and four great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Wallace; paternal

grandparents, Elbert and Theodora Fortier; and maternal grandparents,

Sam and Emma Swor.

A memorial gathering with family and friends was held Friday,

March 30, at the Social Hall of St. Bernard's Catholic Church, in

Stewartville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family

to be donated in Randy's memory.
