12/2/2009 10:37:00 AM Fillmore County to offer large H1N1 vaccination clinic
Fillmore County Public Health will be offering a mass H1N1 vaccination clinic for the priority groups listed below at Harmony Community Center located at 225 3rd Avenue SW in Harmony on Wednesday, Dec. 16, from 4 to 7 p.m.
Vaccine information and forms may be printed from the Fillmore County Web site at www.co.fillmore.mn.us and either completed in advance of the clinic or completed onsite.
Individuals arriving with completed forms will be moved more quickly through the H1N1 clinic. It is also recommended that interested patrons travel light and wear clothing that will increase the speed of receiving vaccination such as a short-sleeve shirt.
At the direction of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH), only individuals under the age of 65 listed in the priority groups below will be eligible to receive vaccine on Wednesday, Dec. 16. This includes pregnant women; individuals who live with or care for children under the age of 6 months; all children, adolescents and young adults, age 6 months to 24 years; people, aged 25 to 64, who are at risk of complications due to an underlying medical or immune system condition or who are health care workers and emergency personnel.
Fillmore County Public Health (FCPH) asks for patience and cooperation with the local H1N1 vaccination process. Vaccine continues to roll out slowly and priority groups will be eligible for vaccine at specific times. Fillmore County Public Health asks that individuals watch the local media and the Fillmore County Web site at www.co.fillmore.mn.us for information regarding specific target group vaccination.
If one does not qualify for a specific H1N1 vaccination clinic one will be turned away until a later date. CDC and MDH continue to assure Fillmore County Public Health that there will eventually be enough vaccine for everyone who wants it.
