When we grow up, we somehow inherit the belief that we need everything to be a certain way in order to be happy. But the truth is, you need much less than you think you need. Actually, one of the best feelings comes when you realize that you can be happy without the things you thought you once needed.

The happiest people don't live with a certain set of circumstances, but rather with a certain set of attitudes. Choosing to be grateful for all you have right now is going to determine how you're going to live the rest of your life. So look for all the positives in your life today. Your greatest achievement in life will be when what you're doing allows you to see how wonderful your life already is.

When you live in fear of what other people think of you, you are living in prison. You shouldn't let other people tell you who you are and what you want. You have to decide this for yourself. When you are making decisions, what you think of your life and yourself are far more important than what others think. This is your life. Live it your way!

Life is constantly changing and we're changing with it. We're not the same person we were a year ago, a month ago, or a week ago. Life's cycle doesn't stop. But every ending is the beginning of something new. Every exit is an entry somewhere else. Live, learn, and let go. Don't hold yourself down with the changes you can't control.

Although some forces are out of your control, you can control how you react to things. Everyone's life has positive and negative aspects. Whether you're happy or not depends greatly on which aspects you focus on. The best thing you can do is to let go of what you can't control and invest your energy in the things you can. Breathe deeply, live simply, love generously, speak truthfully, do your best and leave the rest to the powers above you. Remember, great challenges make life interesting. Overcoming them makes life meaningful. There will always be challenges, obstacles and less than perfect conditions.

If we counted our blessings more often, instead of our money, we would be a lot richer. Keep money on your mind but out of your heart. Never get so busy making a living that you forget to make a life for yourself. Cultivate your spiritual growth. The real measure of your wealth is how much you'd be worth if you lost all your money.

It's nice to have money and the things that money can buy, but it's also important to make sure you haven't lost track of the things that money can't buy. You don't need a lot of money to lead a rich life. Good friends and a loving family are worth their weight in gold. It really is the little things that mean the most. Even giving someone a smile is valuable!

Right now you are creating history...your legacy. Make your time count. Do not wish your moments away. Do not ruin today by focusing on another time and place. There is only now; realize how rich you are in it.
