Racing fans enjoyed five classes of dirt-digging action at Cresco Speedway on Sunday, Aug. 10, as the Upper Iowa Speedway series visited that city once again.

Dillon Anderson of Rudd, Iowa, took the checkered flag in the Stock Cars feature followed by Tom Schmitt of Independence, Iowa, and Kyle Falck of Decorah, Iowa.

Shawn Peter of Mabel took fourth while Spring Grove's Pete Solum finished 12th. Jake Lampert of Caledonia was 19th.

It was Anderson's second win in this year's series. He won all the marbles during the May 10 inaugural event and has scored two second place finishes and a third spot as well in 2014.

After the dust settled in the B-Mods feature, Dan Hovden of Decorah had scored his fifth UIS victory of the season. Jacob Bleess of Chatfield took second while Ben Moudry of Cottage Grove finished third. Casey Knutson of Spring Grove took fifth. Caledonia's Cole Konkel was 10th.

There were 16 Hobby Stocks entrants in the points race. A pair of drivers from Cresco, Iowa, snagged the top spots with Steve Holthaus taking the checkered flag and Andy Stinson following. Third went to Brady Link of Waukon, Iowa. Harmony's Chad Olson took eighth place.

Ryan Ayers of Decorah won the Hornets feature followed by Mitch Balik of Fort Atkinson, Iowa, and Jay Mensink of Harmony. Mabel's Breanna Lee wheeled The General into sixth place.

Winona driver Gregory Wohletz won the Mod Lites feature followed by Rushford's Curt Luhmann and Mabel's Eli Hershberger. John Griffin of Caledonia took fourth. Harmony driver Corey Whalen scored ninth place points while Mabel's Adam Rogich took 10th.

The leader board finds Luhmann in first with 1011 Mod Lites season points. Hershberger (926) and Griffin (898) come next.

Ayers leads the Hornets with 976. Arthur Schott of Clermont, Iowa, is second with 935, and Mensink (867) third.

Holthaus tops the Hobby Stocks list with 956 points. Second goes to Link (909) followed by Scott Spilde of Cresco (899).
