The Kingsland football team traveled to Wabasha-Kellogg last Friday night and lost their first game of the season in the newly created Blue Division of the Southern Football Alliance, 47-12.

Leading the rushing offense for the Knights were Jacob Rindels, 21 carries for 89 yards, and Quinn Larson, seven carries for 84 yards. Also carrying the ball were Isiah Bubany (5/37 yards), Jordan Meskill (11/20 yds) and JJ Fenske (1/-5 yds). The Kingsland ball carriers fumbled the ball three times, but did not lose any of them. Bubany and Larson had touchdowns for the Knights.

In the passing department, Rindels completed two of 11 for 15 yards with three interceptions and Larson had no completions in two attempts. Fenske (12 yards) and Bubany (3 yards) each had one reception for the team.

The defense was led by Julius Wolf (6 solo tackles, 4 assists), Meskill (6s), Joshua Bradley (4s), Ethan Cronk (3s, 1a) and Chase Ganser (3s). Also making tackles were Rindels (2s, 1a), Fenske (1s), Logan Back (1s), Eayen O'Byrne (2s), Bubany (2s), Derek Apenhorst (1s), Jake Martin (1s) and Allen Junge (2s). Bubany also had a fumble recovery.

Kickoff returns were handled by Bubany (6/7.8), Rindels (1/13.0) and Meskill (1/16.0). Doing the kicking were Rindels (punts, 3/13.3) and Ganser (kickoffs, 2/34.0).

Friday night the Knights will host Goodhue in another Blue Division contest.
