Michelle Schmoll and Cory Sather weren't going to let a wedding stop them from enjoying the annual Ag Days celebration in Spring Valley Saturday. Not even if that wedding was their own.

Just hours before the big ceremony, Schmoll, with a tiara on her head, a big smile on her face and an Ag Days button on her shirt, was eating corn on the cob at the fire hall. She was surrounded by relatives who would be part of the wedding party.
Her soon-to-be husband was at home with other family, planning to take his turn at the hot dog and corn feed when his bride-to-be returned.
Celebrating Ag Days is a tradition and Schmoll said they "couldn't miss" the community happenings this year so they worked their wedding schedule around the celebration. That meant a 3 p.m. wedding so that the parade would be done. The wedding was planned in the backyard of their home, which is on Main Street at the very end of the parade route.
Once the approximately 100 units made their way through town and the youngest members of the family got their fill of candy thrown from the parade, the wedding party moved to the backyard for a wedding in near perfect weather.
Schmoll didn't reveal plans for after the wedding, but there was plenty of potential with a chicken barbecue in the same location as the hot dog and corn feed and a street dance just a few blocks down from their home.
