David Holland, 61, once of Lanesboro

David Silas Holland, 61, of Rochester, died Jan. 2, 2013, at his home, surrounded by his family.
He was born on Feb. 20, 1951 in Lanesboro to Silas and Lillian (Kvamme) Holland.
He graduated from Lanesboro High School and Winona Technical College, receiving degrees in carpentry and tool and die.
He married Dixie Prinzing on Dec. 10, 1983, in Stewartville. David worked for the Westfield Golf Course and the Bud King Ice Arena in Winona prior to moving to Rochester in 2002. He worked for the City of Rochester as a Graham Arena maintenance supervisor and at Somerby Golf Course as a groundskeeper.
He enjoyed golfing, fishing, the mountains in Colorado, hockey games and sharing time with family and friends. He enjoyed driving Zamboni at the different ice arenas.
Survivors include his wife, Dixie Holland of Rochester; his son, Darin Holland and daughter, Jodi Holland, both of Rochester; two brothers, Daniel (Leanne) Holland of Blooming Prairie and Ellsworth (Karla) Holland of Rushford; one sister, Julie (Gerhard) Heier of Spring Grove and sister-in-law, Karen Holland of Winona and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Joshua David; and a brother, Luther.
Funeral services were held last Sunday at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes. His body was cremated after the service and his cremated remains were buried at Arendahl Cemetery near Peterson on Monday.
