Robert "Bob" Anthony Petrillo, 61, of Lanesboro, died Tuesday, July 30, 2014, in a motorcycle accident near Lanesboro.
He was born July 22, 1953, in Chicago, Ill., to Caesar and Delores (Kimbrell) Petrillo.
He attended schools in Winnetka, graduating from New Trier High School in 1972. He attended the Indiana Institute of Technology in Ft. Wayne, Ind., and St. Mary's University of Minnesota.
He worked for IBM in Rochester as an advisory programmer/engineer.
He enjoyed playing music, riding his motorcycle and was very active in the community. He was a deacon at St. Patrick's Catholic Church and volunteered as a sound technician for the Lanesboro Community Theater.
He is remembered by four children, James (Jen) Petrillo of La Crosse, Wis., Angela (Shannon) Bengford of St. Louis, Mo., Andrea Driskell of Bangor, Wis., and Gwendolyn Petrillo of Fountain; seven grandchildren and two sisters, Barbara (Ernie) Brandt and Katie Petrillo, both of Northbrook, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Mass of Christian burial was held Saturday, Aug. 2, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Lanesboro with the Rev. Patrick Arens officiating. Burial followed at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery in Lanesboro.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
