Main Street in Spring Grove is beginning to look more like a real road as more of it is paved. According to Kristin Kammueller the Community Relations/Public Affairs coordinator for MnDOT District 6, in her weekly project update, the following happened last week on the Spring Grove Main Street project: grading for sidewalk east of Division Avenue, planting trees west of Division Avenue, installing light poles west of Division Avenue, paving first two lifts of bituminous from Division Street to 2nd Avenue NE, pouring light bases east of Division Avenue, paving 2" lift of bituminous from 2nd Avenue NE to east project termini, raising manholes and water shutoffs west of Division Avenue, and placing sod west of Division Avenue. This week plans are to pour sidewalks and pedestrian ramps east of Division Avenue as well as complete any unfinished projects from last week.

Roadwork also continues west of Spring Grove on Highway 44 to Highway 52. This past week they finished paving the first lift of bituminous pavement and started paving final surface lift of bituminous pavement from Underpass Quarry to Highway 44/Highway 52 intersection. Flaggers and a pilot car control Highway 44 single lane traffic.
