This year many of Spring Grove's non-profit organizations have joined together to produce a collaborative arts and other activities catalog that lists classes offered throughout this year.

The list includes: the Bluff Country Artists Gallery, Spring Grove Community Education, Giants of the Earth Heritage Center, Spring Grove Public Library, Spring Grove SWIM Center, Ye Olde Opera House and the Sons of Norway Valheim Lodge 364.

The goal of this joint effort was to produce a listing of the many and varied class, recreation and event offerings that will be available for all ages.

To sign up your children for the fun activities scheduled, don't miss the first sign-up date on Tuesday, April 3 from 2-6:30 p.m. Adult class sign up will also be this evening.

"Our hope is that this catalog will entice all residents to take a class or participate in some of the fun events happening around town," Giants of the Earth president, Karen Gray explained.

"We also had the goal of reducing conflicting dates and duplicating each other's efforts. Of course, there will be additional events added throughout the year, and residents are encouraged to check out these organizations' websites, Facebook pages and print advertisements."

The catalog will be mailed to all boxholders with a Spring Grove zipcode sometime next week.

There are many ways to register: by mailing in the printed registration sheets that will be included in the catalog, calling the organizations directly, going online or registering in person.

In addition, Giants of the Earth volunteers will be hosting class registration days for all events in the catalog at the Syttende Mai House in Viking Memorial Park on Tuesday, April 3 from 2-6:30 p.m.; Saturday, May 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; and Tuesday, Aug. 28 from 2 to 6:30 p.m.

The volunteers will assist individuals and families in signing up for classes hosted by all of the collaborators during those registration days. Payment can be made by check or credit card.
