After a string on postponements due to rain, Caledonia/Spring Grove baseball players hit the road for Chatfield last Friday. The Gophers defeated the Warriors 3-0.

Backed by errorless defense, Chatfield junior Ethan Woltz tossed a one-hitter versus C/SG. No Warrior batter reached base until the fifth inning when Joe Pettit swatted a two-out single. The only other Warriors who got on board were lead-off walks issued in the sixth and seventh innings.
Kyle Sorenson, pitcher of record for C/SG, gave up only five hits. The Gophers had runners on base in each inning but scored all three runs in the third with two singles, two walks and one Warrior error.
There were no extra-base hits for either team, and no batter had more than one hit.
Chatfield (7-2, 7-2 TRC) won again the next day at Lewiston-Altura to stay in second place in the TRC South while C/SG (3-3, 3-3 TRC) remained solidly in third place.
The game completed a season sweep for the Gophers, who had won the season opener at Caledonia 6-2.
"The difference in this game was Chatfield hit the ball better than we did," C/SG coach Dave Konz said. "We struggled to get solid contact.
