The Caledonia/Spring Grove girls golf team played four foes in five days last week, winning three including both conference duals.

C/SG vs. Southland, May 6

MaCal Grove (par 38) in Caledonia was the site for Monday's TRC South Zone match versus the Rebels. C/SG won 217-233. The weather was a sunny 70 degrees.

Katie Meyer won meet medalist honors with a round of 48. Claudia Melde shot a 55, followed by Ashley Gavin with 56. Hannah Hendel shot 58, Claire Eglinton 59 and Julianna Sand 60.

Megan Harvey led Southland with a score of 52.



C/SG at FC, May 7

The Warriors were defeated 212-204 by Fillmore Central at the Harmony Golf Course (par 36) the following afternoon. Sunny skies and 60 degrees met players as they took to the links.

Falcon Katie Tammel was meet medalist with a round of 48.

For C/SG, Meyer shot 49, followed by Gavin (54), Hendel (54), Eglinton (55), Melde (55) and Sand (62). Rebeckah Schroeder played as an individual, shooting 61.

By an odd twist of fate, the Warriors' defeat doesn't count as a conference loss. Due to weather-forced cancellations, the format of the TRC race has been changed this year.

Since some teams will not be able to play home-and-away dual meets, only the first counts in the TRC zone race this season.

C/SG won its first dual this year versus FC. The last half of the conference race will be decided on one day at the conference tournament.

C/SG at Southland, May 9

Wet and cold conditions met the teams at Cedar River Country Club in Adams (par 37). C/SG won the non-league dual 232-260.

Meyer won meet medalist honors, shooting 54.

Other varsity scores were 58 for Gavin, 59 for Melde, 61 for Hendel, 61 for Eglinton and 63 for Sand.

C/SG at Chatfield, May 10

The Chatfield Country Club (par 35) featured sunny skies and 60 degrees on Friday as C/SG defeated the Gophers 216-240 in a South Zone match.

Hendel and Gavin both shot 51. Meyer and Eglinton turned in rounds of 57, while Sand shot 60. Schroeder scored a 65.

Chatfield player Paige Isensee was meet medalist with a round of 45.

Up Next: On May 13, the Warriors (5-1, 3-0 TRC) traveled to Valley High to play La Crescent. The conference tournament is Thursday, May 16 at The Bridges in Winona. The girls close the regular season hosting Kingsland on Monday, May 20.
