The Caledonia/Spring Grove boys placed fifth and the girls seventh among nine teams at the cold Lewiston-Altura Invitational Track Meet on April 17. Lanesboro/Fillmore Central was the girls team champion while Rushford-Peterson/Houston was the top scoring boys team

BOYS

The boys scored 53 of their 54 points in sprints (including 4x200-meter relay), high jump & long jump

Ryan Pitts was the leading scorer winning both the 200-meter dash and his second straight 100M.

West Spier won the high jump and was fourth in the long jump. Sam Schulte ran third in the 200M and was fifth in the 100M.

The 4x200-meter relay team ran fourth with legs run by Case McCormick, Ezekiel Ott, and Mitchell Bechtel and an unidentified substitute.

The top six in each event earned team points. Also scoring twice was Nolan Rohrer who ran fourth in 400M (his first meet in this event) and placed fifth in the long jump.

Thomas Jergenson was sixth in the 400, and Bryan Barthel was sixth in shot put. Jergenson also ran a personal record time to place 8th (out of 23) in the 200.

Three others recorded personal records as Devan Heaney ran 8th out of 24 in the 100 while Jordan Jaster was 11th among 22 in shot put, Andrew Marschall was 10th in the 1600-meter (mile) run.

GIRLS

The best individual finish was Ali Beardmore who was second in long jump. With fifth place in 100M, Beardmore was the team's leading scorer.

The 4x200 relay also placed second, and the same foursome also ran fourth in 4x4. Those sprinters were Tracy Felten, Lydia DeMorett, Brenna Werner and Josephine Wagner.

Wagner earned team points in three different events - both of those relays and a personal-best 4-feet 6-inch fourth place in high jump.

Sophomore Alexis King was fifth in high jump, and freshman Maria Schieber was fourth in the 800 - her first time to enter that varsity event

Veteran thrower Aly Folz was not available away on senior trip.
