Houston County is hosting an open house at its County Community Services Building on Wednesday, May 22, from 2 to 4 p.m. at 611 Vista Dr. in Caledonia (next to Subway).

The open house is an opportunity to promote community and veteran wellness in the county. The following agencies will be participating: Houston County Public Health and Veterans Services as well as the University of Minnesota Extension- Houston County.

During the open house don't miss:

• Free blood pressure checks

• Free nitrate testing - Rural residents with private wells should bring a water same for testing

• Free chair massages

• Pick up soil testing kits

• Free food safety-thermometer

• Learn about veterans services

• Talk to a mental health outreach workers

• Ask veteran medical center questions or about compensation/ pension

• Learn about scams targeting older adults

• Visit with a master gardener

• Use a computer for MRC sign-up
