Larry L. Garnatz, 51, of Zumbrota, formerly of Wykoff, died Friday, Nov. 9, 2012.
He was born Nov. 23, 1960, in Rochester, to Dale and Metta (Konken) Garnatz and attended elementary and high school at Wykoff Public Schools. He then went to Winona State University in Winona, and received a B.S. degree in sociology, criminal justice, and a minor in music. He then moved to the Rochester area, where he lived until he was transferred through work to Cannon Falls. He later moved to Zumbrota and had lived there since 2007.
He was a member of United Redeemer Lutheran Church in Zumbrota. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, general handyman jobs, and deer hunting with his nephews, nieces, and friends. He was always willing to help and loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include two sisters, Myrna Meyer of Sierra Vista, Ariz., and Lynda (Charles) Stephen of Spring Valley, one sister-in-law, Mary (nee Rix) Garnatz of Chatfield; 10 nieces and nephews; 21 great-nieces and nephews; four great-great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Dayle Garnatz and Veryl Garnatz, a sister, Gayle Garnatz, and two nieces.
Funeral services were Friday, Nov. 16, at United Redeemer Lutheran Church with the Rev. Tom Isaacson officiating. Burial was in St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Wykoff. The Mahn Family Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
