The Patriot Tour — a nationwide motorcycle tour to honor America’s armed forces by carrying a flag throughout the United States — will be coming to Spring Valley with a stop at Kwik Trip Wednesday, Aug. 27, from 10 to about 10:30 or 11 a.m.

The riders will be leaving Albert Lea in the morning and traveling to Waukon, Iowa, by evening.

Spring Valley VFW members will be at Kwik Trip to meet and greet the riders carrying the nation’s flag from coast to coast. They invite area residents to help welcome the participants as they stop for a break during the day’s ride.

Every year The Nation of Patriots organizes a national effort that pays tribute to, and honors, all of America's armed forces — past, present and fallen. They show America's support, thanks, and united pride by passing one American flag throughout the country.

The Patriot Tour began during Memorial Day weekend.  A massive group of riders escorted one American flag on the back of a motorcycle to Woodstock Harley-Davidson in Illinois.  Upon arrival, the flag was transferred to the Illinois escort.  The next day the flag was taken to Indiana and the next it traveled to Michigan — on and on for 100 days through 48 states.  The flag finally makes it full circle and lands right back in Wisconsin where it all started over Labor Day weekend.
